Employer of the Month – Ebenezer Baptist Church

We are thrilled to announce Ebenezer Baptist Church as our February 2020 Employer of the Month! Following a nomination from our Business Engagement Advisor, Andrew Bloomfield, Ebenezer Baptist Church was chosen as February’s winners due to their commitment to staff training and development as they serve the local community.
A FEW WORDS FROM ANDREW BLOOMFIELD, BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT ADVISOR, ON EBENEZER BAPTIST CHURCH’S EMPLOYER OF THE MONTH NOMINATION…

Ebenezer Baptist Church looks to serve the local community, offering coffee mornings, a free breakfast club once a week, etc.

Meeting with Ebenezer Baptist Church, we became aware of their intended further expansion plans, which included offering free lunches and also their intention to become one of the churches to host a night shelter for the homeless.

In order for Ebenezer Baptist Church to progress and to put them in good stead with their plans to become one of the churches to host a night shelter for the homeless, it was deemed essential for some of the fellowship to acquire a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate.

Although a couple of their fellowship had their Level 2 Food Hygiene, Ebenezer Baptist Church wanted to increase their capacity. NPTC Group were able to support nine of the fellowship complete a course in Level 2 Food Hygiene and gain their certificates.

NPTC Group of Colleges were able to offer funding for the Level 2 Food Safety course via the Skills Development Fund.

Ebenezer Baptist Church are continuing to work with NPTC Group of Colleges, exploring opportunities to further support people within their local community with skills development.

A FEW WORDS FROM EBENEZER BAPTIST CHURCH ON THEIR EMPLOYER EXPERIENCE…

I write on behalf of the Leadership Team here at Ebenezer Baptist Church. We wish to thank you and the college for all your assistance in organising the Level 2 Food Hygiene Course in which we participated.

Whilst the content was quite intense we found it very informative and thought-provoking, the tutor (Ms. Lavercombe) made the day most interesting and enjoyable. Everyone said they would gladly do it again.

We had 9 successful candidates which will help us immensely in our community work. Had it not been for your help in organising and funding this course we would not have been able to be one of the hosts in the forthcoming homeless night shelter project this. This is because without the qualification we would be disqualified from hosting.

Once again thank you for your help and look forward to working with you again.

Jan Dacey (Secretary)

(Mrs Anita Maddocks, one of the successful course participants holding the Employer of the Month certificate and trophy)
