Employer of the Month – Welsh Rugby Players Association

We are pleased to announce that the winners of our January 2023 Employer of the Month are the Welsh Rugby Players Association (WRPA).  Following a nomination by our Business Engagement Advisor Robert Harris, The WRPA were chosen by the panel as January’s winners for their commitment to staff training and development.

A FEW WORDS FROM ROBERT HARRIS, BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT ADVISOR, ON THE WRPA’S EMPLOYER OF THE MONTH NOMINATION:

The WRPA have been working with NPTC Group of Colleges and the Business Development Unit, for the past 4 years, initially with the Ospreys Region and more recently expanding into the Scarlets Region.

During this period many courses have been undertaken, such as; Level 2 & 3 Gym and Personal Training, Level 5 ILM Leadership & Management and Level 3 Education & Training.

Both Tim Jones and Dafydd Evans continue to work with NPTC Group of Colleges and the Business Development Unit, identifying further areas of training for their players.

A FEW WORDS FROM THE WELSH RUGBY PLAYERS ASSOCIATION ON THEIR EMPLOYER EXPERIENCE:

“The WRPA are grateful for the continued support from NPTC Group of Colleges and the Business Development Unit.

The WRPA are working to raise the standards and skill set of players in the WRU and help them prepare for other ventures outside the Rugby World.

NPTC Group of Colleges have provided us with great funded opportunities and our dedicated Business Engagement Advisor Robert Harris has helped us achieve our objectives and provided new opportunities with training for the players.

Personal development is so important in realising the potential within people, and this enables us at the WRPA to present a more efficient and professional service within our business.

The Commitment and flexibility shown by the Business Development Unit, the Sports and Public Services Department in delivery of Gym and Personal Training Course’s under tuition of Geraint Kathrens, and the Business Tourism and Management School in delivery of the ILM Leadership & Management under the tuition of Leah Morgan and Samantha Davies who delivered Education and Training, has enabled a number of players to achieve qualifications.”

Accepting the award on behalf of the WRPA is Tim Jones, WRPA Personal Development Manager for the Ospreys Region, with apologies from Dafydd Evans, WRPA Personal Development Manager for the Scarlets Region, who unfortunately could not attend the award presentation.
