A FEW WORDS FROM ANDREW BLOOMFIELD, BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT ADVISOR, ON TINY SWAN PRESCHOOL’S EMPLOYER OF THE MONTH NOMINATION…

“Tiny Swans is a preschool for children aged 18 months to 5 years, who have been providing support to parents and families since 2011 and received special recognition during 2023, being awarded for their nurturing and caring environment.

Tiny Swans Preschool have been engaging with the Business Development Unit at NPTC Group of Colleges since 2022. During this time employees have attended a range of courses, which have supported with their personal development, whilst providing essential training.

NPTC Group of Colleges has supported with courses, such as Basic Safeguarding, Advanced Safeguarding and Emergency First Aid, where various funding streams, i.e. Personal Learning Account (PLA), have been utilised to support with the costs of training.

Additionally, Tiny Swans Preschool have forged links with the wider college, offering students work experience placements, as part of their studies.

Tiny Swans Preschool continue to work with NPTC Group of Colleges, exploring opportunities to further support their workforce and students at the College.”

A FEW WORDS FROM TINY SWANS PRESCHOOL ON THEIR EMPLOYER EXPERIENCE:

“Developing our staff/volunteers is important to us at Tiny Swans Preschool and we are committed to providing them with opportunities to undertake training.

NPTC Group of Colleges have been supporting us with our training requirements for several years. Training includes, two of our volunteers having undertaken the Level 3 NVQ in Childcare and Learning Development.

Since the pandemic and coming out of lockdown, we have been engaging with Andrew of the Business Development Unit, with regards our training requirements. A wide range of courses have been offered, such as Basic Safeguarding, which has been invaluable, especially as we have gained more volunteers.

The College have been able to offer courses fully funded, which has supported with the costs of training. As a not-for-profit organisation, having courses funded is highly appreciated, especially as costs for everything have increased dramatically during the cost-of-living crisis. We value the support greatly.

We have won a second Special Recognition award for our advocacy for ALN children and giving parents a voice and have been nominated for the Early Years Awards again this year. We take great pride in this, but we couldn’t have done it without our supportive avenues such as the families we support who cheer us on, local supermarket champions and NPTC Group of Colleges.

We look forward to further developing our relationship with the Business Development Unit and the wider College in the years to come, as we continue to look to develop our staff/volunteers and look to provide opportunities for students at the College.”
