What is the Insulating Powys project?

The Insulating Powys project aims to provide vital training to the Powys area to address the problem of an aging housing stock which, along with the current energy crisis, to improve the energy efficiency of homes and other buildings in the area. It is imperative that insulation work is undertaken correctly and conforms to a quality standard that protects homeowners and is fit for purpose.

Project Goals

  • To build capacity within the local installer sector and build demand for housing insulation in existing properties in Powys.
  • To support training to installers and marketing to the domestic retrofit sector to boost demand.
  • Scale up and mature the Powys-based insulation installation sector, creating high paid green skilled jobs and meet the challenge of net zero housing.
  • Increase the number of Powys-based installers listed on the Trustmark database.
