A workshop that gives a review of the science behind climate change and exploration of the key low carbon initiatives in the construction industry. Alongside these this session also reviews and explains the focus behind: Net Zero/Carbon Offsetting/Science based targets and Carbon footprinting.  Each session will also involve preparing the trainers to teach this workshop and signposting to further free learning through the Supply Chain School.

Modern methods of construction (MMC) (educators/lecturers) 27/02/24, 9:30-12:00

A workshop outlining modern methods of construction and what part can they play in the construction mix to help create a low carbon industry. This session will provide an in-depth view of the various systems (volumetric etc) and illustrate the sustainability benefits and use of digital technology that MMC benefits from.  Each session will also involve preparing the trainers to teach this workshop and signposting to further free learning through the Supply Chain School.

A workshop outlining the scale and scope of the retrofit challenge/opportunity and the various tools and technologies that are utilised to effect improvement and reduce carbon use. A workshop outlining the MCS standard and its importance in delivering high quality installation of renewables in either a new build or retrofit environment. It will review the installer and product standards and will highlight how the standard relates to building regs and sign-post accreditation routes.  Each session will also involve preparing the trainers to teach this workshop and signposting to further free learning through the Supply Chain School.
