Welcome to the Sixth Form Academy
Studying A-Levels at College will have similar elements as school, these include access to specialist facilities and timetabled classroom lessons, taught by subject experts.
As specialists in sixth form education, we pride ourselves in offering extensive A-Level courses that can tailor to each individual.
Students will choose from either three or four AS levels plus the Welsh Baccalaureate during their first-year studies.
We support independent study for students, with an outstanding library and state of the art learning resources which encourage success.
Besides, lecturers can provide revision support and drop-in workshops for students if needed.
The Sixth Form Academy offers many opportunities for students to stretch themselves intellectually. The UK Maths Challenge and Biology Olympiad competitions extend maths and science students beyond the curriculum.
Applicants for competitive courses such as Medicine, Dentistry and, Veterinary Science in Oxford or Cambridge university will receive expert advice from guest lecturers and academics.
Furthermore, students will have the chance to visit Oxford University to experience life at a top university.
Additionally, students with an excellent academic profile will be eligible to apply for our Gifted and Talented excellence Programme and SEREN hub network.
These will entail a range of masterclasses, designed to enhance their university application.
Above all, we offer a variety of full- and part-time courses including, A-Levels, GCSEs, Access courses, BTEC Applied Science, CiLEX, Introduction to AS Levels and the PGCE teaching qualification.
Courses are delivered at locations from Neath to Newtown with specialist resources.
Our general entry requirements for studying AS levels are a minimum of six GCSEs at grade C or above. Some subjects will have specific entry requirements – please refer to our A Level Entry Requirements chart for more detail.

Equally important, this sustainable refurbishment has improved energy efficiency in line with the College’s commitment to improving energy use and the reduction of CO2 emissions.
