Performing Arts

Performing Arts is the perfect place for students to develop both personally and professionally.

In particular, students will be supported to create, perform, and manage themselves to a high standard.

To achieve this, we provide access to excellent technical facilities, studio spaces, and equipment.

Students will learn the skills, techniques, and confidence that will prepare you to be industry-ready.

A-Level choices are Drama & Theatre Studies, Dance and Music. Full-time courses include Dance, Performing Arts and Music from Level 2 to Higher National Diploma.

Careers in Performing Arts are extensive, these include Physical Therapist, Theatre Director, Community Arts Worker, Movement Psychotherapist, Performer, Stage Manager, and Dramatherapist.

Music

The Music Academy at NPTC Group of Colleges enables students to explore Level 2 Music, which can lead to an HND in Music.

Additional training and extracurricular opportunities are broad in music, these involve Orchestra, Funk Band, Brass Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble, String Ensemble Woodwind Ensemble, ABRSM, and Oxbridge preparation.

Furthermore, we perform a variety of concerts per year with a percentage of proceeds going to charities. We participate in the National Festival of Music For Youth-Regional and events across Newport and Birmingham.

In fact, many of our students perform in competitions such as the Margam Abbey Music Foundation, Roger Chilcott competition, the Urdd and, The Abertawe Festival for Young Musicians.

Moreover, employment in the music industry involves Music Therapist, Musician, Teaching, Radio Producer, Event Manager, Arts administrator, and, Sound Technician.
