Six Sigma – Green Belt

Course Overview

The Six Sigma Green Belt is designed to provide delegates with the skills to run projects using Six Sigma techniques.

During the programme, delegates will complete a Six Sigma project following DMAIC framework including data collection, basic statistics, root cause analysis and the quantification and selection of appropriate solutions.

    Successful Delegates can progress onto the Six Sigma Black Belt course.

  • Course Modules

    This course covers the five stages of Six Sigma with focus on running projects using Six Sigma techniques. This course covers:
    Define:
    - Understand the benefits of having a standard improvement method
    - Know what the 5 steps of DMAIC are and carry out a high level process map
    - Be aware of tools, techniques and concepts used in The Define step including Creating the Project Charter, Stakeholder Analysis, SIPOC, Voice of the Customer, Kano Model, Corrective Action Plans and A3 Reports

    Measure:
    - The Importance of Data
    - Data Collection Planning
    - Sampling Strategy
    - Complete a Flow Process Analysis exercise
    - Create Pie, Line & Pareto Charts
    - Understanding Control Charts

    Analyse:
    - Apply process knowledge to the problem
    - Identify potential issues using process visualisation
    - Choose the appropriate Data Display
    - Identify potential Root Causes using data analysis
    - Organise your theories using graphical tools
    - Ishikawa, 5 Why’s, 3x 5 Why’s Paired Comparison, Group

    Improve:
    - Identify Solutions & consider the implementation strategy
    - Quantify potential solutions using Weighted Criteria
    - Pilot small-scale testing of the solutions
    - Identify the risks associated with implementing the solutions
    - Create detailed plans for implementation
    - Complete a Pugh Matrix, Gantt Chart and FMEA

    Control:
    - Explain the need to control a process
    - Explain the principles of process and change management
    - Integrate the change with the existing control plan
    - Explain the needs for standards and the uses of documentation – SOP’s
    - Carry out any necessary communications or training to affected staff
    - Demonstrate that the improvements solved the problem
    - Complete a project A3 Report and present your Project
