Level 2 Award in Welding Skills (Part-Time: Evening)

Course Overview

This Level 2 Welding course is designed to help you develop advanced practical skills and gain an accredited qualification in a single welding process: MIG, TIG or MMA. Guided by an experienced tutor, you will build on your existing knowledge. The course focuses on welding in vertical and overhead positions, preparing you for further training or employment in welding and engineering settings. The course is suitable if you want to deepen your technical understanding, improve consistency and accuracy, and progress towards higher-level welding qualifications.

Day and time: Tuesday, 5pm–9pm
Start date: September 2026 or January 2027
Duration: 16 weeks

Who is this course for?
• Learners who have successfully completed a Level 1 Welding course
• Adults with substantial prior welding experience who want a formal qualification
• Individuals aiming to progress to advanced welding training or employment

On completion, you will gain a Level 2 welding qualification in your chosen process, demonstrating your ability to work safely and competently in more demanding welding positions.

  • Entry Requirements

    Successful completion of the Level 1 Welding course or equivalent welding experience

  • Summary of Outcomes

    On successful completion, you may progress to the Level 3 Advanced Welding course. This qualification can also support progression into skilled roles within fabrication, manufacturing and engineering environments.
