Course Overview
We are excited to offer a one-year GCSE Mathematics evening course designed specifically for mature students who wish to improve their original GCSE Maths grade or gain their GCSE qualification. Whether you’re looking to enhance your career prospects, continue your education, or develop key problem-solving skills, this course will provide you with the essential knowledge and understanding required for success.
Once you have signed up for the course, you will be expected to attend weekly evening classes where you will explore a wide range of topics, preparing you for two final exams at the end of May and early June. Regular attendance and engagement are crucial to achieving the best results.
Throughout the course, your mathematical skills will be developed and assessed through mock exams, regular practice tasks, and interactive problem-solving sessions. You will build confidence by working with a variety of mathematical concepts relevant to real-life situations.

Summary of Outcomes
Career Prospects: A C grade in GCSE maths is required for many jobs. An increasing number of universities and courses require a B grade as part of their entry requirements.

Course Modules
This course will cover:
• Understanding and applying fractions, percentages, and ratios in practical contexts.
• Developing skills to solve equations and interpret sequences and graphs.
• Learning how to work with shapes, angles, areas and volumes.
• Gaining the ability to analyse data, calculate probabilities, and interpret statistical diagrams.
• Enhancing your ability to approach unfamiliar problems, break them down logically, and find solutions.The course will run on the following dates and times:

Method of Assessment
Examinations
There are two examinations which take place in May and June. Both papers make up 50% of the final mark.
Paper 1 - Non calculator Paper
Paper 2 - Calculator Paper
The following grades are available E, D, C and B. -
