Bute Energy Inspires Future Renewable Energy Experts at NPTC Group

NPTC Group recently welcomed Bute Energy to deliver a session to the engineering students marking a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to providing students with real-world industry insights. Matthew Murphy, a leading expert from Bute Energy, delivered an engaging and informative session on the critical topic of site selection for wind farms.

It was great to deliver a workshop to NPTC College students helping to showcase the variety of roles available in the renewable energy sector. During the visit, our Energy Analyst, Matthew Murphy tasked the group to utilise their critical thinking and collaboration skills to locate an energy park site in Wales. Through visits such as this and our wider educational partnerships we’re able to help create inclusive pathways into the sector and equip the future generations with the skills needed to meet government net zero targets.”

During the session, Matthew shared his extensive knowledge and valuable insights, emphasizing the importance of strategic site selection in the development of wind energy projects. His expertise provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the factors involved in identifying suitable locations for wind farms, including environmental impact, grid connectivity, and land use considerations.

Thanks to Matthew’s engaging lesson, students were able to successfully identify a suitable grid reference on a map of Wales to host a wind farm. This hands-on experience not only enhanced their learning but also inspired them to consider careers in the renewable energy sector.
