Level 3 EAL Diploma Engineering Technology (Full-Time)

Course Overview

This is a multi-discipline engineering programme covers the necessary engineering skills and knowledge for students wanting to work in engineering. Students will study Engineering principles, Working Effectively and Safely in Engineering Environments, the Principles of machining maintenance and other specialist vocational units.

The one-year Level 3 Engineering course builds on our PEO Level 2 engineering courses and provide an exceptional foundation to enhance career routes to trade qualifications or higher-level education such as a HNC or HND again leading on to Engineer status, and even Chartered Engineer. This course will allow you to study at University level (HNC/HND) or enter employment at technician level.

  • Entry Requirements

    5 GCSEs grades A*-C including English, Maths and Level 2 Engineering qualification. A good level of attendance and commitment is also required.

    Students that do not meet the entry requirements can be interviewed on a case-by-case basis considering individual profile and the work life experience etc.

  • Summary of Outcomes

    Students can continue their studies or enter into employment and continue to study on a day release basis or enter into a sponsored Modern Apprenticeship with a participating employer.

    Those who have successfully completed this course can also continue into higher education, such as degree apprenticeships, HNC or HND.

    Course Duration: This is a 1 year full time course

  • Method of Assessment

    This course requires continual assessment of practical observations, quality checks of engineering components and college based assignments which will be collated as portfolio evidence to meet the needs of the awarding body.

    Short written assignments and online examinations are scheduled at key stages through the course.
