Course Overview
This Level 1 Welding course is designed to give you a practical introduction to welding and deliver an accredited qualification in a single welding process of your choice: MMA, MIG or TIG. The course will help you build core skills, understand safe working practices and gain confidence in a workshop environment under the guidance of an experienced tutor. It is an ideal starting point if you are considering a future in welding or engineering, or if you want to develop practical skills alongside your current job.

Start date: September 2026 or January 2027

What you will learn
• Safe working practices and correct use of welding equipment

By the end of the course, you will have gained a Level 1 welding qualification and developed the confidence to work safely and effectively in a workshop environment.

No formal entry requirements.

Summary of Outcomes
On successful completion, you may progress to the Level 2 Part-Time Evening Welding course. This qualification can also support entry-level roles in engineering or fabrication, or act as a foundation for further technical training.

Workshop personal protective equipment including fire-retardant overalls, safety boots, safety glasses, welding helmet and gauntlets.
