Course Overview

This course provides learners with knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace under the UK health and safety legislation. This course will benefit all individuals who may be working within a health and safety role.

This course covers the following topics:
-Penalties and enforcement
-Ergonomics and human factors
-The cost of poor Health and Safety
-The benefits of good Health and Safety
-Risk assessments
-Hierarchy of control
-Environmental factors
-Human factors
-Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
-Fire safety and manual handling
-Hazardous substances
-Display screen equipment
-Workplace safety signs
-First aid and RIDDOR

If you are over 19 and are currently living in Wales you could be eligible for a FREE course under the Welsh Government Personal Learning Accounts (PLA) funding. We can discuss funding with you upon enquiry.

  • Entry Requirements

    This qualification is available to learners aged 18 years or over. Learners must have the literacy skills to be able to read and self-learn the reference manual and additional resources.

    The learner will need access to a computer with an internet connection in order to access the distance learning resources and communicate with the Trainer/Assessor
