Course Overview
This police entry course is an essential first step in training to become a police officer.
Undertaking the Level 3 Certificate in Knowledge of Policing enables learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of policing practices.
The course provides learners with the essential knowledge required to apply and prepare for the stringent assessment and interview process

Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications required. Learners must be aged 18 and above.

Course Modules
The course covers the following areas:
• Evidence-based preventative policing
• Supporting victims, witnesses and vulnerable people
• Managing conflict situations in policing
• Using police powers to deal with suspects
• Conducting police searches
• Handling information and intelligence
• Providing an initial response to policing incidents
• Conducting priority and volume investigations
• Interviewing victims and witnesses in relation to priority and volume investigations

Method of Assessment
Qualification is made of 10 mandatory units which will be assessed via multiple choice, written assignments and scenario based demonstrations.
